Fellow Residents,
Now that Christmas is upon us and 2016 is coming to a close we wanted to briefly update you on our activities throughout the year –
Estate maintenance
Our 2016 maintenance programme is now concluded and will resume again in March. As in prior years our contract with our gardeners, Garden +ER, will be fully reviewed and renewed if appropriate early in the New Year. Following that process a new programme of works will be agreed and put in place for 2017 with the hope that the additional planting postponed in 2016 will be possible as well as further pruning of the bedded areas. We will provide further details on this in Q1.
We take this opportunity to thank all of the residents who helped with the general clean-up day on 8th October, and in particular Sean Doyle, who gave so generously of his time and expertise that day.
Please note that there is a Winter Grit/Salt box against the wall opposite number 36/37. The box is locked for the protection of the smaller children on the Estate but the code, should you need to access the salt bags, is 33440.
Social Events
We held a Quiz night on 13th May and raised a total of €210.00 net after prizes/prize money. In addition we had a Christmas get together on Saturday 10th December with 30+ people attending and it’s fair to say a good night was had by all ! Our thanks to the various people who sponsored prizes on the night, with the resulting raffle raising a further €70.00 towards the upkeep of the Estate. Additional thanks to Harry Kavanagh who led the assembly in carol singing, to Tracy (“The Stonecutter Café”) who provided the finger food and to James O’Toole for again giving us the use of the Bar.
We hope to have further socials in 2017 and look forward to seeing you there.
