Fellow Residents,

As we are now well into our second quarter we felt it was timely to provide an update to you on matters relating to the Estate.

First and foremost we would like to wish those who have recently left the Estate well for the future, and welcome our new residents including some recent family additions/arrivals (congratulations to all!).

Estate Maintenance

Our gardeners, Garden ER, have completed seven visits as part of our maintenance programme including this week’s visit. We delayed the last cut in May to try to ensure that the grass areas are as tidy as possible coming into the June Bank Holiday weekend. We fully acknowledge that given the mild weather over recent weeks, plant and grass growth has been more vigorous than normal and we will therefore keep the cutting schedule under review (funds permitting).

As outlined in our last letter damage is continuing to occur to planted areas and to a number of the trees in the Estate. While accepting that some damage is inevitable, branches have been torn from trees and trees damaged to such an extent that they will have to be replaced. Cost of replacement is c. €100 per tree putting additional pressure on the Association’s limited resources. Please let any member of the committee know if you see anything of this nature and we will endeavour to follow-up, as necessary. Equally you can contact us by using our email account as advised below, if this is more convenient.

Funding

Having considered a number of suggestions for utilising the Development Grant we received from Wicklow County Council, we have decided to re-paint the main walls surrounding the Estate and to complete some additional planting/beds. While our gardeners will do the planting for us we do need volunteers to assist with the painting. Given the scale of the painting project we would be unable to complete the work without a reasonable number of adult volunteers. We are therefore asking you if you can give us an hour or two of your time on Saturday 24th June (weather permitting). Please advise a committee member if you are available that day. You can also contact us by email, at the address below.

Contributions for the current Quarter are now due and we would be grateful to receive these as soon as possible. As a reminder - for people who wish to pay the full contribution the amount due is €180; half-yearly payment is €90; quarterly payment is €45 and monthly payment is €15.  As always, if due to personal circumstances you are unable to meet the full contribution, we will gladly accept whatever you feel you can afford. An envelope is attached for this Quarter’s payments and these can be dropped into number 33 or 44 or handed to any member of the Committee. We thank those who have already made their payments and look forward to receiving other contributions over coming weeks.

Social – Pub Quiz

We are again proposing to hold a Pub Quiz on Friday 16th June in O’Toole’s Bar to raise additional funds for the Association and hope that as many of you as possible can attend. Entry will be €20 per table and, if last year is anything to go by, a good night will be had by all! We will drop around a flyer with details in the next week. We would be delighted to receive any sponsorship/raffle items from anyone in a position to do so.

We would be grateful if you could complete the attached Questionnaire for us. This is a key input for us – it ensures our records are accurate and up to date and also gives you the opportunity provide your ideas/thoughts and feedback to us, in relation to the Estate. A member(s) of the Committee will be calling round to you early next week to collect these and we look forward to meeting you then. As previously advised we are happy to also get your feedback anytime via our email account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Regards, for and on behalf of the Committee
